Selena Gomez is not connected with what happens in pop culture in general. In fact, this is being essential for her to keep her mental health up to date. This was a change in behavior acquired over the years, as she is part of this culture, however, she has changed the way she deals with it.
With the distance, she finds herself freed from other people’s opinions about her.
“That’s a big and significant part of why I feel like I’ve been as healthy as I’ve never been before” she said in an interview with WWD magazine.
“I’m not fully aware of what’s really going on in pop culture, and that makes me very happy. And maybe that doesn’t make everyone happy, but for me, it really saved my life”, she added.
Selena Gomez then recalls when she was one of celebrity gossip‘s favorite people.
“To be honest, I was like, ‘This is too much information’”, she said.

“That’s a lot of my personal life spread out all over the place, and it felt uncontrollable. I felt like my thoughts and everything I was consuming revolved around a million different people in the world saying good things and bad things”, she continued.
“And I just thought, ‘What’s the reason? I don’t get paid for it. Nothing is giving me energy to live’ And I just exploded, and I was getting over it.
I wanted to delete everything completely, but my team was smart enough to convince me not to.
But I’m glad I didn’t, because it’s a wonderful way to stay connected, and when I do, I’m happy to know that I’m just being completely honest and true to who I am”, she finally said.
