The ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ is one of our favorite BTS albums. Included in this studio compilation are great tracks like “Boy With Luv,” the band’s collaboration with Halsey, “Black Swan,” “On,” and more. Behind those powerful singles, among the most endearing songs we can mention “Inner Child”, V’s solo.
In BTS’s “Inner Child”, V reflects on his past and sings to his childhood to give himself encouragement and hope
The story behind “Inner Child”, V’s solo
Released with the material on February 21, 2020, the composition was written and produced by Bangtan Sonyeondan’s RM and Taehyung themselves, in collaboration with other recurring allies of the band. It is for this reason that the lyrics have an introspective sense.
In “Inner Child”, V sings to his past self, in hindsight, that they are both going to succeed and that everything will turn out fine, growing not only physically, but also as better people: “It will be fine because the me of now Okay, the me from yesterday I can see clearly now, “sings the BTS member.
The first version, before being edited, said: “we will not change”, but V had the idea of intervening that part and in the final cut it was like “we are going to change”. In addition, the actor is not the only one who manages to identify with the reflection of “Inner Child”, as RM from BTS has also stated that he reminds him of the person he was in childhood.
The subject became even more endearing with his live performance.
Although Taehyung stated that, at first, he had imagined that in the face-to-face concert he wanted a stage structure that would allow him to dance surrounded by the entire ARMY, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic it was not possible.
However, the result of BTS’s “Inner Child” live was just as moving and exciting, as in it we can see V sing around a carousel, while a boy dressed exactly like him rides one of the rocking horses.
. In fact, the little boy, who represents the interpreter in his childhood, was even more fortunate because he received cash for doing his job so well during the filming of the performance.
