BLACKPINK’s Lisa apologizes for cultural appropriation

After the release of “LALISA”, Lisa released a MV for the B-Side “MONEY”. The video, however, had negative reactions and worried fans because the BLACKPINK singer was accused of cultural appropriation for wearing Box Braids style braids as a hairstyle.

So much so that the subject was brought up during an online event after a fan explained to Lisa what had happened. The singer made it clear that she did not know about the problem and made a point of apologizing:

“I didn’t know… like, I had no bad intentions. I thought the hairstyle was really cool.

But I feel so bad and I’m sorry if anyone was hurt because of it“

The fan then explained that he didn’t want to make Lisa feel bad, he just thought it would be right for her to know what was going on. The singer, in turn, added that she and her team will be more careful in the future:

“I’m sorry, please tell all your friends that I had no bad intentions”.

The conversation was posted on the internet and it is evident that Lisa was really moved by the situation. Even so, thousands of fans supported the attitude through social media.

In another releated news, Lisa is focused on her solo release, highlighting the single “LALISA”. However, this does not mean that BLACPINK has been left out. On K-Pop, it’s common for group members to release solo songs in parallel. Meanwhile, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé are showing a lot of support!

Proof of this is that they appeared on social networks doing the “Challenge of Lalisa”. They were very relaxed dancing to the music.
