The definitive list of ten songs from the North American summer of 2021 is out! Billboard released the rankings this Tuesday, September 7th, and guess which song was on the top? “Butter”, by BTS. The song, after all, topped the US singles chart for nine weeks during the northern hemisphere summer.
In addition to the K-Pop group, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Bieber also dominated the summer. The two are the only artists with two songs in the Top 10, respectively “good 4 u” and “deja vu” for her and “Peaches” and “Stay” for him.

In other news related to BTS, another record for the K-Pop group! This Saturday, September 4th, the K-pop band once again impressed by becoming the first group to surpass 20 BILLION streams on Spotify, according to chart data.
The group’s Spotify page really surprises: 31,139,937 monthly listeners; over a billion reproductions on the song “Dynamite”; and “Butter” as the most played single on the platform on its opening day, with 11,042,335 global broadcasts.
This was not the group’s first achievement this week, as on Thursday, September 2nd, they officially entered the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame with a total of 23 titles. The announcement was made by the organization itself, which defined the K-Pop group as “the flagship of the pop revolution”.
