Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake and Sunghoon, 5 of the 7 members of K-Pop group ENHYPEN, tested positive for Covid-19. The information was confirmed this Thursday, September 2, by the Belift Lab agency through a statement on Weverse.

Artists came into contact with an infected person in late August and were quarantined. Jake, the first member to show symptoms, was found to be positive on August 30, followed by the other members in the following days.

After a Covid-19 case at the location where the team was present on Aug. 25, including the artists undergoing PCR tests, the tests came back negative but everyone was quarantined” the agency explained.

Following instructions from the health authorities, the necessary measures are being carried out, including the designation and transfer to treatment facilities; limbs are currently showing mild symptoms

Belift Lab also added that “it will fully support the rapid recovery of members ”, saying that “it will place the health and safety of our artists as a top priority”. It also noted that “it will continue to cooperate fully with requests and instructions from government health authorities”.

The five members of ENHYPEN are the latest K-Pop idols to test positive for Covid-19. Earlier this year, Minhyuk from BtoB was hospitalized for weeks after contracting the disease.

In addition to them, groups such as SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ and TREASURE had their activities interrupted in July after the confirmation of cases of the disease. Fortunately, none of the artists had any complications and they all went back to working normally.

In other ENHYPEN-related news, following a statement made on August 25, BELIFT LAB confirmed that the group is in the midst of preparing a new album scheduled to be released in late September.

This album will come as the last ENHYPEN release after BORDER: CARNIVAL released at the beginning of the year, which achieved great sales success, good news for a recently debuted group. ENHYPEN made their debut in November 2020 as a result of the Mnet survival show “I-LAND”.
