JAY B, from GOT7, made his solo debut this Thursday, 26 August, with the mini-album “SOMO: Fume”. The project is the artist’s first since signing with his new agency, H1GHR MUSIC, and features seven songs, including the previously released single “Switch It Up” and “BTW”, which also won a MV!

In “SOMO: Fume”, the acronym at the beginning represents the phrase ‘Style of My Own‘, or ‘my own style’, in free translation. Work delivery partnerships with Wheein the Mamamoo, solo singers junny , g1nger and sokodomo in addition to the rapper Jay Park, who also appears in the music video for “BTW” with JAY B.

The release of JAY B excited fans, who took the artist’s name to trending topics on Twitter worldwide, apart from the growth in the charts. Nothing new in K-Pop, right? Especially when it comes to the fandom of one of the most famous groups today.

After leaving their old agency JYP Entertainment earlier this year, after seven years without renewing their exclusive contract, the members of GOT7 are stepping up their music activities through solo projects.

On Thursday, July 29, band member Jackson Wang released the single “Drive You Home” for which he wrote and produced the music video. The singer created his own label, Team Wang, and has partnered with the Seoul-based Sublime Artist Agency.

On the other hand, Jinyoung, who signed with BH Entertainment, releases the self-written song “Dive” at 6 p.m. the same Thursday.

I worked on the song among other tasks because I wanted to give a song to my fans,” he said. “Thank you for waiting and I will continue to pay (your support) with music

Other members of the band, such as BamBam and Yugyeom, have also released solo projects this year.

In February, the septet released the song “Encore” just a month after they left JYP to head to new agencies. confirming that despite the termination of their contract, the members are committed to staying together.
