The new chapter of the reality show Girls Planet 999 left fans of the K-pop group CLC surprised and saddened. Choi Yujin, one of its members, is a contestant on the talent show and revealed that the group’s future is highly uncertain.
Choi Yujin debuted with the aforementioned group in 2015, under the management of CUBE Entertainment. This 2021, they completed six years of career, but the indefinite group hiatus gave bad signs to the fans. In June, the singer signed up for Mnet’s reality show Girls Planet 999, a survival show where the nine most voted contestants will form a K-Pop girl group.
The show aired its second episode on August 13, and Yujin had her first performance with HyunA’s song “Bubble pop”. In the previous interview, she explained why she had joined the competition.
With a choked voice, Yujin said that “the company (CUBE) does not plan any more activities for CLC” The show was a desperate attempt to continue her dream as an artist.

“I gave everything to CLC. Our concept was very much about ‘rude girls’ and she sometimes felt that she was invisible on stage.
I still want to keep singing. Through GP 999, I want to show my talent and other facets of myself” she stated.
After her performance, Yujin won the favor of the judges and placed 7th in the TOP 9 for the week.
It’s not common for news of a breakup to be given this way in the K-Pop world. There are some practices. Generally, it is the agency itself that issues a statement, on behalf of all members of the girlgroup or boygroup in question. A member appearing on TV talking about the end suddenly is atypical. CLC fans were quite surprised by this situation.
The agency in question, Cube Entertainment, did not comment until this story was closed.
