Dua Lipa spoke about DaBaby’s offensive comments

Dua Lipa answered the request of fans and spoke about DaBaby‘s homophobic and serophobic speeches this Tuesday july 27th. The two worked together on the remix of “Levitating” which is currently at No. 3 on the US hit charts Billboard Hot 100.

“I am surprised and horrified by DaBaby’s comments. I don’t really recognize this one as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart is and that I support the LGBTQ community 100%. We need to come together to fight stigma and ignorance about HIV/AIDS” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

This year, Dua Lipa even performed at the pre-Oscar virtual party promoted by the Elton John AIDS Foundation . The proceeds went to the foundation, which invests in HIV treatment and research.

The offensive comments occurred during a show at Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival on Sunday July 25th, DaBaby snapped:

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS or any of these sexually transmitted diseases, turn on your cell phone’s flashlight.

Guys, if you’re not sucking a dick in the parking lot, turn on your cell phone flashlight”

Discrimination had a lot of repercussions. On Monday, rapper TI came out to DaBaby’s defense in another controversial demonstration.

“If Lil Nas X can push his shit in peace, DaBaby should also be able to #equality” he wrote on Instagram. It didn’t go well either.

Then DaBaby appeared on Instagram to explain himself. He said his performance on the show was distorted and evaluated out of context in a six-second video. But he went back to making a discriminating speech.

“Even my gay fans, they don’t have fucking AIDS, you idiots. They don’t have AIDS. My gay fans take care of themselves.

They avoid it. They’re not disgusting gays. They are not addicts. My gay fans are classy. They’re not assholes in a parking lot.

You have to get a room. A good one, in a five star hotel.

Even my gay fans have standards” he fired.
