Britney Spears spoke about the online criticism and her disappointment with those closest to her in two Instagram posts on Saturday. And in the most recent post she seemed to be responding to Jamie Lynn Spears.
In her first post, Spears directly addressed the people in her life who have only recently spoken out in support of her in her fight against her guardianship, writing:
“There is nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up to you post things regarding your situation, whatever it may be, and speak up for support … there is nothing worse than that! ”
“They really have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face publicly“
Fans suspected that Spears was addressing her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who spoke publicly about Spears’s guardianship case for the first time in June.
Britney somehow confirmed fans’ suspicions with a second Instagram post on Saturday night, in which she calls Jamie Lynn directly.
“I don’t like that my sister performed at an awards show and performed MY SONGS for remixes” Spears wrote.
Probably referring to Jamie Lynn’s 2017 performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards. The “Toxic” singer also detailed her feelings about critics of her dance videos, and addressed her father, Jamie:
“I’m not going to perform on any stage anytime soon with my father managing what he uses, says, does or thinks“
Jamie Lynn Spears posted on Sunday July 18 a photo on Instagram appealing to God, captioning it
“May the peace of the Lord be with you and your spirit“, title which was changed to emojis.
Probably because Britney seemed to respond with a dance video titled:
“May the lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today …“, which was also edited.
