NCT Dream’s Renjun forgot to use the microphone that came connected to his headphones during a performance of the promotional stage of the group’s long-awaited comeback, revealing that the entire performance is lip-synched, that is, playback. The incident occurred in the show on Friday, May 14, of “Music Bank” of the entertainment company KBS WORLD.
NCT Dream held a promotional performance for their first full album, “Hot Sauce“, as well as the b-side song “Dive Into You”. But during the performance of “Dive Into You“, the fans noticed that 21 years old Rejun, was not using his headset microphone even though the music with his voice was playing at stage.
Renjun inadvertently continued his entire performance diligently on the popular stage without his headphone mic. Meanwhile, viewers had no problem hearing Renjun’s voice really clearly throughout the song, despite the fact that the idol had no microphone to sing along with.
Before long, the other members of the group took notice as well, and Mark handed over his own microphone so Renjun could “sing“.
But unfortunately, the mistake was enough to reveal to all viewers that NCT Dream’s entire promotional presentation for “Dive Into You” was done with playback.
Some netizens criticized the situation, while others took it with fun, one fan said, “Obviously, there is nothing wrong with lip syncing, but it is a big mistake. I wonder why none of the staff members noticed until after they started acting.”
Another added: “I hope Renjun doesn’t hate himself for this, it was clearly unintentional. I am so sorry for the whole group, I can only imagine how nervous they were seeing his member without a microphone and how bad they must have felt afterwards.” Another said: “This is not the first performance by a group to lip-synch to focus on the choreography. They can sing live and they have shown it“.
