Shownu from Monsta X has beenput in a hiatus. This Monday, May 3, the temporary pause of Shownu, leader of Monsta X, was announced due to a health problem.
According to the Starship Entertainment agency, the 28-year-old artist was diagnosed with a left retinal detachment, and as a result, he will be removed from his professional activities while his health improves.
The information was made public through a statement on Twitter, detailing Shownu’s situation after undergoing surgery in July last year. The agency says that during preparations for Monsta X’s new comeback, the artist began to feel discomfort at the sight of him and a hiatus was indicated. The statement said:

“He immediately visited the hospital for an examination and received the appropriate medical treatment. The result showed that the discomfort was created by subretinal fluid and proliferative retinopathy as a compilation of retinal detachment and Shownu was recommended to take considerable rest time to avoid relapse or further deterioration.”

The news comes shortly after Monsta X announced their return, scheduled for June 1, with the mini album “One of a Kind.” Last Saturday, May 1, the first teaser of the project was released.
