A popular fashion designer in conjunction with an auction company are under fire for auctioning an unwashed outfit worn by BTS’s Jimin. Earlier this month; It was announced that an auction company and a designer would sell one of Jimin’s outfits that the artist wore in a popular performance. But the fans are now really disappointed and angry after finding out that the outfit will be sold unwashed.
The outfit to be auctioned; It is the hanbok style suit designed by Kim Rieul. It were worn by Jimin; during the performance of “Idol” at Gyeongbokgung Palace for the popular American show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon‘. South Korean designer Kim Rieul previously revealed that BTS wanted to buy the outfits. But he simply loaned them the clothes since he never sells the clothes that he designs to idols.
However, Jimin’s outfit is now up for auction along with 50 other pieces of Korean art. The outfit was first seen on April 22. The clothes Jimin wore will start at 5 million won at auction, around $ 5,000. Although fans were previously excited to participate in the sale; ARMY is now angry. Because they found out that the outfit would be sold unwashed.
.
Kim Rieul said in a statement, “Jimin touched and wore this outfit. I didn’t even bother to wash it. These clothes still have Jimin’s sweat and fragrance from that hot day.” Fans weren’t sure if the clothes would be washed before the sale. But Myart Auction (the company that will auction the outfit) confirmed:
“It was left unwashed after the performance at the US show. It will be sold with Jimin’s body fragance intact“. Of course the fans are really mad as the man’s action is invasive and only encourages the obsessive behavior of some fans.
