Bebe Rexha gave everything to the Grammy Awards through her social networks. She was displaying a commemorative plaque recognizing all the great accomplishments of “Meant To Be”, her collaboration with the Florida Georgia Line, which is the greatest success of her career. But in the video, he ended up strongly criticizing the Grammy Awards.
The singer thinks she should have won a Grammy for “Meant To Be.” In 2019 she got nominations, but it was not like that. In an outburst, she said that GRAMMYs aren’t fair because artists most of the time pay to win.
“I feel like I deserved it, the shit GRAMMYs. Here among us, GRAMMYs are about money, just saying.”

The singer was not the only one who accused the academy awards. The Weeknd also criticized the awards and even called them corrupt; the situation managed to be a world trend on Twitter but the Canadian singer clarified everything in a recent interview with Billboard magazine.
The singer claimed to have been boycotted by being left off the list of nominees and accused the Recording Academy of corruption. In the interview, he said that the anger was over. Only 10% of him still cares about getting Grammys.
“I personally don’t care anymore. I have three GRAMMYs, they don’t mean anything to me now.”

The Weeknd’s three Grammy Awards were won in 2016 (Best Contemporary Urban Album for “Beauty Behind the Madness” and Best R&B Performance for “Earned It”) and 2018 (Best Contemporary Urban Album for “Starboy”). The album “After Hours” was considered by all the American press as the strongest candidate for album of the year at the 2021 Grammy. But The Weeknd received no nominations.
