Billboard has the two new world charts rank songs based on stream and sales data from more than 200 territories.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is the world’s most successful song for the second week in a row, as her 1994 Christmas carol passes a second frame at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200.
Meanwhile, BTS’s “Dynamite” conquers #1 on the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US. The two charts launched in September and rank songs based on streaming and selected sales activity from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Nielsen Music / MRC Data.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” tops the Billboard Global 200 for the second week, a 6% increase to 83.7 million views and 19% in sales. The song was first released in 1994 and each Christmas it proves its significance.
BTS’s “Dynamite” also regains the top on the Billboard Global Excl. US, jumping from 3 to 1 with the launch of its Christmas special. The song attracted 59.1 million views, a 10% increase compared to the previous week and had a 15% increase in sales in territories outside the United States.
The song tops the chart for the sixth week overall; breaking a tie it had with Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez’s “Dákiti” for the most weeks at No. 1 in the short history of Billboard’s new world chart.
