Shawn Mendes responds to rumors about he is gay and Camila Cabello

Shawn Mendes is not a newcomer to the music industry.

With three albums topping the Billboard 200 and on his way to his fourth album at the top of the US main chart with “Wonder” the Canadian singer is still questioned about his sexuality and his girlfriend Camila Cabello. Many call the relationship a “publicity couple”.

Shawn Mendes’ fame as a pretty young man ends up being mixed, by mistake, with his sexuality.

In a new interview, he decided to talk about the accusations that he is gay and the reality of his relationship with Camila Cabello.

Speaking to The Guardian UK, Shawn said:

“There was a desperation for me to come out as gay, which is very ridiculous. I was upset because I know people who are gay and who did not come out of the closet and I know the suffering that they go through. It is completely ignorant and insensitive of people to say that.”

Despite all the accusations of “publicity couple” in his courtship with Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes already revealed, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, that the two consider it a commitment.

Mendes said:

1. “Yeah right, I think it’s always been for me. She has been one of my best friends since I was, like, 15 years old.
   I don’t know, at the same time, I know that we are very young, so I don’t want to get married, like, incredibly fast, but I think that when you meet yourself, you feel and know that you have known your partner for life.”

Shawn Mendes is 22 years old and Camila Cabello is 23 years old. Very young indeed, but they have already found love!, They have already moved in together.

In quarantine, they spend all their time at their home in Miami.
